What is micro squirrel?

The micro squirrel is a small species of squirrel found in the forests of South America. They are known for their small size, reaching lengths of only 5-7 inches and weighing around 1-2 ounces. Micro squirrels have a distinctive flattened tail that helps them balance while climbing and jumping among the trees.

These squirrels are primarily herbivores, feeding on nuts, seeds, fruits, and insects. They are active during the day and spend most of their time in the trees, rarely coming down to the ground.

Micro squirrels are typically solitary animals, only coming together to mate. They have a relatively short lifespan of around 2-3 years in the wild.

Due to their small size and elusive nature, micro squirrels are not well-studied and much of their behavior and habits remain unknown. They are not considered to be a threatened species, but habitat loss and deforestation are potential threats to their populations in the future.
